The Sydney-based swimwear and apparel brand fuses chic and minimalist design with an eco-conscious ethos.
When it was founded in 2015, Sydney-based brand BONDI BORN was created with the laidback Aussie lifestyle and beach culture in mind. With minimalist and elegant design, swimwear and apparel is created using the finest quality, eco-friendly fabrics and premium local craftsmanship. Every fabric in the brand's collections is consciously sourced for sustainable certification in accordance with the Environmental Product Declaration through EPD International which analyses and quantifies the environmental impact of a product’s life cycle including: consumption of raw materials like chemicals, water and energy; and the waste and emissions produced of the mill that makes it.
The brand’s innovative, swimwear base cloth, Sculpteur™ has a very low carbon footprint of 2.14, which is up to 10 times lower than fabrics made from recycled plastics. In fact, all fabrics used by BONDI BORN are also OEKO-TEX Certified which means they do not release any harmful substances that can be hazardous to people's health such as pesticides, heavy metals, formaldehyde, aromatic amines or allergising colourants.
Furthermore, each BONDI BORN garment is expertly crafted locally in Sydney, and packaging is consciously chosen to be plastic free, and 100% recyclable or compostable, including swing tags, satchels, and hygiene labels. The brand is certified as a B Corporation— the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance.
BONDI BORN is also a 1% for the Planet member, committing to donate at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental related non-profits. For every order placed online, BONDI BORN plants a tree through One Tree Planted, whose goal is to plant 15 million trees around the world to help fight climate change and reduce carbon in the atmosphere.
