Spotlight: Edible Beauty

True to its name, this botanically-based Australian brand makes beauty products in formulas that are clean enough to eat.

Founded in 2014 by naturopath and nutritionist Anna Mitsios, Edible Beauty has a range of products formulated to address every skin care concern using wild crafted Australian ingredients.

Frustrated with the lack of skincare that was safe and clean, especially for pregnant women, Mitsios set out to create a range of products that were so pure you could eat them. “After all, you absorb 60 percent of what goes on your skin, and what you put in your body radiates through your skin,” Mitsios states. To that end the brand has also created a range of teas formulated to help with sleep, energy and skin, and supplements formulated to repair and help you achieve radiance and vitality from the inside out.

Each Edible Beauty product makes use of natural ingredients selected based on their proven therapeutic qualities, and they're certified cruelty free, vegan, and gluten free. Edible Beauty products are also free from all nasties like parabens, phthalates, sulphates, artificial colours, petrochemicals, Triclosan, and EDTAs (read more about clean beauty here).

The brand aims to make products that are not only better for your skin and body, but also better for the planet— products are responsibly made and housed in recyclable glass bottles and jars, and packaging is 100% recyclable. The brand has partnered with global recycling pioneers, TerraCycle, who collect and recycle any containers and packaging.

Edible beauty also gives back to the community, from raising money for breast cancer awareness month, bushfire relief and supporting aboriginal organisations. Plus, for every purchase Edible Beauty will plant a tree.
